Summer
This is my eighth piece this semester, I believe. For the most part I used acrylic for the color in the design and black prisma colored markers for the black flower. My main medium for the piece is paraffin encaustic wax, which gives each slide an antique look. If I could do something different, I would change up the colors and add some found objects or papers. Overall I like this piece a lot and I think I’m going to re-matt this on black.

gosh i love these flowers so much. i kind of want to steal them. the way they are drawn and colored make each one stand out but yet stay unified. good job!
ReplyDeleteThis piece is super super creative and I love it Judy! I wish I could steal your artistic intuition of the way you come up with ideas! Because I am absolutely loving your flowers girl.
ReplyDeletei love how you use the wax to give your piece a vintage effect. also, i really like that you aged your pieces by ripping the book covers.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Elizabeth 100%. The idea to use the book covers was very creative. It also gave each piece a really neat texture. This is one of my favorite pieces of yours. I think that the flowers are really pretty and I love the color scheme.
ReplyDeleteI never saw this peice during creation but it looks really good. The texture is very good and seem to intertwine with the idea. Very nice.
